Parents T’s & C’s

  • For pupils who are aged 18 or below, parents are required to check that their child is practicing for a minimum of 20 minutes a day. To be a great guitarist, an hour or more a day is the minimum, so don’t feel like you have to stop at 20 minutes
  • It’s a great idea to get into a practice routine (before school seems to be popular, or 20 minutes after dinner)
  • Regardless of S.A.T.s, GCSEs and A-Levels, with effective time management, this is easily achievable and will provide a nice break from any revision, exam preparation. Remember Tom Daley got excellent A-level results whilst training and winning Olympic medals
  • Purposeful practice. This means that learning songs from tabs/Youtube videos do not count as practice. Only material that is taught in lessons, tasks on musicteachershelper.com and grades count as purposeful practice.
